Rhodes slays the Warriors, 16-5 for season finale

CONWAY, Ark. – The Rhodes women's lacrosse team capped off its regular season with a 16-5 victory over Hendrix College on Saturday in Southern Athletic Association action.
 
Rhodes finishes its inaugural season with a record of 8-3 and 4-3 in the SAA while the Warriors post a record of 4-9 and 1-6 in league play.
 
The Lynx went straight to work, nabbing the first four goals, a score from Lindsay Gess, Emily Teague, Morgan Fuller and Lisle Bruns each. Hendrix got their first score from Landri Wenzel, but the Lynx mounted another scoring onslaught, posting four more straight goals, from Andrea Lombardi, another from the stick of Fuller and two goals from Ashley Dill. The Warriors would score once more before the half to make the score 8-2 at the break.
 
The second half of action continued much like the first, with eight more Lynx goals. Fuller managed five second half goals, for a total of seven, with Gess adding two more and Dill scoring once more. The Lynx defense gave up three more goals to make the final count 16-5.
 
Rhodes outshot its opponent 34-14 and snagged more ground balls as well, 29-17.
 
Sarah Daniels held strong in the cage for the Lynx, netting all 60 minutes while grabbing six saves.
 
The Lynx will look to the SAA tournament, where they will face Berry College in the first round set for April 19 on the campus of the Vikings.
