Jenny Bitzer's four scores helped lead the Rhodes women's lacrosse team past Fontbonne University, 18-6 on Saturday, March 08, 2014
The lynx boast a first season record of 3-2 while the Griffin's fall to 0-2 on the season.
Rhodes had a host of Lynx get into the scoring column in the win. In the first half, the Lynx netted 15 goals, including five from Fuller, three goals from Bitzer, two scores from
Lindsay Gess, two goals off the stick of
Tori Van Heyst, and a goal apiece from
Emily Teague,
Lisle Bruns,
Allison Bruff. The Lynx took a 15-3 advantage into the halftime break.
In the second half the scoring slowed down a bit, but not enough to keep Bruns, Teague and Bitzer from each netting another goal.
Sarah Daniels was the Lynx' net minder, where she played 30 minutes and earned the win.
Erin Hisey saw the field for 18 minutes while
Lucy Rosenbloom played 12 minutes and grabbed six saves.
The Lynx outshot their opponents by a margin of 30-14, and picked up 22 ground balls to the Griffin's 16.
Rhodes will return home for the Blues City Classic, where they will face off against St. Mary on March 10 at 1 p.m.
