No. 18 Rhodes completes sweep of Centre, 2-1

DANVILLE, Ky. – The No. 18 ranked Rhodes baseball team completed the sweep of conference foe Centre College on Sunday, downing the Colonels 2-1.
 
Rhodes improves to 18-5 on the year and 7-2 in league play while the Colonels fall to 5-14 on the season and 1-8 in the SAA.
 
The Lynx got on the board early, scoring a run in the second inning when Patrick Kilkenny found his way home during a throw down. Then the Lynx added their second run in the fourth inning when Kilkenny doubled, scoring Strother White. The Colonels scored their lone run in the fourth inning as well when Trevor Brewe's sacrifice fly scored Phil Brilli.
 
Kilkenny hit a double in his third straight contest, racking up seven so far this season. Rhodes posted seven hits in the outing, including doubles from Bill Munson and Ryan Olive as well.
 
Daniel Morris go the start and the win for the Lynx as he threw for six full innings, where he struck out two and walked four in his fourth win of the season. Thomas Beamish came in for the save, pitching the final three innings where he got four K's to one walk.
 
Rhodes will be back on the field on March 25 where they will continue their road series, facing off against Covenant College.
