DANVILLE, Ky. – The No. 18 ranked Rhodes baseball squad notched two wins over Southern Athletic Association foes Centre College on Saturday, 8-1 and 2-0.
After the day, the Lynx boast an overall record of 17-5 and a league record of 6-2. The Colonels fall to 5-13 on the year and 1-6 in conference play.
In the first contest the Lynx went straight to work, posting runs in the first, third, fourth sixth and ninth innings. A

Justin Genter for the first run in the first inning.
Walker McWherter sent home Olive in the third inning, as the Lynx took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.
Josh Goodwin found his way home in the fourth inning to push Rhodes lead to 3-0. The Colonels scored their single run in the bottom of the fifth with a Phil Brilli sacrifice that scored Andrew Olson.

Josh Goodwin. After a pair of runs in the ninth inning, the Lynx held on for the 8-1 victory.
Blake Glauben started on the hill for the Lynx, and threw for eight complete innings. In his time on the rubber, the sophomore threw eight K's while only allowing one walk in his fourth win of the season. Phil Sartain came in to close for Rhodes, throwing for one inning.
Rhodes tallied 14 hits in the win, with seven RBIs. Munson and
Patrick Kilkenny each notched doubles in the outing.
In the second contest, the Rhodes offense slowed down and the defense stepped up, earning a 2-0 shutout. The Lynx posted six hits in the outing to the Colonels two, including a pair of doubles from
Josh Keen and Kilkenny.
Adam Putnam threw a complete seven inning game, with three strikeouts and only one walk. The sophomore only gave up two hits while earning his fourth win of the season.
Rhodes will return to action tomorrow, March 23 as they finish the series against the Colonels in Danville, Ky. at 12 p.m.
