Rhodes uses two hat tricks to defeat Huntingdon, 8-6

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A pair of hat tricks from Jason Lee and MG Jadick gave the Rhodes men's lacrosse team their first win of the 2014 season over Huntingdon College, 8-6.
 
The Lynx open the 2014 campaign with a 1-0 record, while the Hawks fall to 0-1 to being the year.
 
Jadick opened the scoring in the first period with his unassisted goal, to give the Lynx the early 1-0 lead. Huntingdon struck twice in the second quarter, a goal from Mike Kasmarik and LaDarius Williams each, gave the Hawks the 2-0 lead. Jadick would let that stand as he found the back of the net with 30 second left in the half, to take a 2-2 score into the break.
 
The scoring fest continued in the second half, as Rhodes again opened scoring with a Cooper Robinson goal three minutes into the period, to give the Lynx a 3-2 lead. Huntingdon went tick-for-tack with the Lynx, producing an answer for the next Rhodes goal, knotting the score up at 4-4 with 5:26 to play in the third.
 
Lee got on the board, scoring three goals bask to back to earn a hat trick himself, and make the count 6-4 with 14:23 to play in the fourth. Jadick scored his third goal, and Alessandro Secino broke the silence with a goal at 4:30 to play in the contest to make the score 8-5. The hawks got on the board for a final score with 42 seconds to play, but couldn't make a comeback as the Lynx brought home the 8-6 victory.
 
In the net for Rhodes, and awarded the win was Braxton Carr, who had 12 saves and allowed only six goals.
 
The Hawks outshot the Lynx by a count of 31-22, with the Lynx grabbing more ground balls by a margin of 32-28
 
The Lynx will hit the road for their next contest, as they travel to take on Southwestern University on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.
