MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rhodes baseball completed the sweep of Washington University in St. Louis in a double header on Sunday, 2-1 and 6-3.

The wins move the Lynx to 7-2 on the season while the Bears fall to 1-2 to kick off their year.

The Lynx saw their first run score late in the game when
Strother White hit a single out to right field, moving
Walker McWherter to third and sending
Justin Genter home for the Lynx' first run in the sixth inning.

The Lynx scored their second run when Genter hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing
Ryan Olive to score, giving Rhodes a 2-0 lead against the Bears heading into the seventh. The Bears posted their lone run in the eighth inning, and the Lynx held on for the 2-1 victory.

Blake Glauben was on the mound for the Lynx in the first game, pitching eight innings. Glauben gave up only four hits to one run while striking out six batters. The win gives Glauben a 3-0 start to the season.
Max Halasz was called out of the bullpen for the final inning, and gave up one hit, earning his first save of the season.

In the second contest the Lynx battled to a 6-3 victory, earning a win for
Daniel Morris, who began the game on the rubber for Rhodes. In his five innings a work, Morris threw three strike outs while giving up five hits.

Rhodes got on the board in the first inning, recovering after a Bears run opened the game with a Max Golembo score to even up the score 1-1 after a
Strother White sacrifice fly scored
Bill Munson. The Lynx tacked on another four runs in the fourth inning, to take a 5-1 lead.

The Bears rally in the eighth inning fell short, as they only managed to score two more runs. The Lynx notched their final run in the eighth inning when a
Ryan Olive single sent
Andrew Wallis home to make the final count, 6-3. Rhodes posted 17 hits on the day, while holding Wash U. to only 13 in the double header.

The Lynx will be back on the field on March 1 as they host Hendrix College in the Southern Athletic Association conference opener. The first pitch is set to be thrown out at 11 a.m.
