JACKSON, Miss. – The Rhodes men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday against Millsaps College to finish off the regular season, 2-1.
The Lynx close the 2014 regular season with a record of 6-7-3, and 3-2-2 in conference play. The majors rise to 12-5 overall on the year and 6-1 in league play.
Rhodes fought hard in the first half, firing five shots. Goal keeper
Riley Sheen ended the first half with three saves, with the half ending in a 0-0 stalemate.
The Majors ended the scoreless streak with an unassisted goal from John Overton in the 65th minute. The Lynx fought back to tie the game when
Jason Crutcher scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute.
Two minutes into overtime the Majors Overton scored an unassisted goal, his second of the contest, to end the game.
Rhodes was outshot in the contest by the Majors by a count of 17-10, and fell short in the corner kicks column, 8-0.

The Lynx will look to bounce back next weekend, Nov. 7-9 at the SAA Conference Tournament hosted by Hendrix College.
