CONWAY, Ark.- The Rhodes men's soccer team defeated Hendrix College on Sunday afternoon in their first game of the Southern Athletic Association, 1-0.
The Lynx begin league play with a 1-0-0 record and of 4-5-1 for the season. The Hendrix Warriors fall to a record of 0-1-0 in SAA play and 3-8-1 for the year.
Rhodes was outshot by Hendrix 12 shots to 21 in the game, but
Samory Diaby was able to find the back of the net in the 55th minute of the game, assisted by
Connor Tipton to take home the 1-0 win.
The Lynx defense cleared six corner kicks and held off 10 fouls against. Rhodes tops Hendrix on saves made with a total of eight by Lynx goalkeeper
Riley Sheen over 90 minutes and three by Hendrix.
The Rhodes men's soccer team will play again on Tuesday Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. against Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.
