MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes men's soccer team defeated Birmingham Southern on Saturday in an overtime match, 1-0.
Rhodes moves on 5-5-1 on the year and 2-0 in SAA play, while the Panthers fall with 7-1-2 on the season and 1-1 in league action.
The score remained consistently 0-0 throughout the first 90 minutes, with the Lynx leading in shots on goal, with 14, as Birmingham fell behind with nine.
No goals came about in the first period of overtime for either team as well.
In the last minute of the 109 minutes of scoreless play, the Lynx earned a penalty kick with
Andrew Roskos-Ewoldsen delivering the winning goal.
In goal all 110 minutes for the Lynx,
Riley Sheen recorded eight saves.
Rhodes looks to bring home another win at home,
on Saturday, October 17, against Sewanee at 4pm.?
