MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes women's swimming and diving team pulled out a big win on Saturday against the defending Southern Athletic Association Champions, Birmingham Southern College, 160-102 to open the 2014-2015 season.
Rhodes had big performances across the board, with
Virginia Carr leading the way, winning three different events. Carr won the 100 yard breast stroke, with a time of 1:07.24, the 200 year breaststroke in 2:31.21 and the 200 IM with a 2:21.68 time.
Sarah Young and
Allie Zeidan won two events each, with Young taking both the 100 and 200 backstroke and Zeidan capturing the 500 and 200 yard freestyle.
Olivia Burchett won a tight race in the Lynx closest race of the day, winning the 200 yard butterfly event in a time of 2:18.43.
Rhodes will be back in action on Oct. 31 at the Hendrix College Invitational.
