ROME, Ga. – The Rhodes women's soccer team fell in a tough battle on Sunday to Berry College, 3-0.

The Lynx move to a record of 9-4-2 and 4-1-1 in league play while the Vikings improve to 14-2 and keep an untarnished conference record of 6-0.

Rhodes fought to keep Berry off the board, but Bella Fornuto netted the first goal 14 minutes into the contest. Tessa Piety found the back of the net for a second goal in the 26th minute of play. Three minutes later, Rachel LeRoy added the Vikings third goal. Rhodes went into the half time break, trailing 3-0.

The Lynx came out strong in the second half with sound defense and several solid shot opportunities, but coach Joe Vari's squad couldn't find the back of the net, eventually falling, 3-0.

The Lynx were narrowly outshot, by a margin of 14-10, and each team was awarded two corner kick opportunities on the day.

Rhodes goal keeper Chandler Kuhlman got the start for the Lynx, playing 27 minutes in goal, and grabbing two saves. Anna Maldonado saw 63 minutes in goal for the Lynx, where she picked up five saves.

The Lynx will wrap up the regular season on Nov. 1 at Millsaps College.
