MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes volleyball team fell in a close match to Centre College on Saturday, 3-0.
The Lynx fall to 5-19 on the year and 0-12 in league play while the Colonels move to 11-15 and 7-6 in Southern Athletic Association play.
The match was tight from the get go, as the Lynx narrowly fell in the first set, 27-25. Rhodes struggled in the second and third sets, falling 25-13 and 25-12.
Elasha Williams led the Lynx offensive charge, racking up 11 kills.
Alex Overstreet added six to the Lynx total.
Catherine Grimes led in the assist category with nine, while
Caryn Hawkins added seven on the day.
Maraia Tremarelli led the Lynx defense, as she picked up 17 kills. Williams added 14 with Grimes sprawling for 10 digs.
Rhodes will be back in action on Oct. 26 against Sewanee at 1 p.m.
