ATLANTA, Ga. – The Rhodes women's volleyball team fell in a hard fought Southern Athletic Association contest on Sunday to Oglethorpe University, 3-1.
 
The Lynx now post a record of 4-18 and 0-11 in conference play while the Stormy Petrels move to a 14-14 overall record and 3-9 in the SAA.
 
The Lynx battled to win the first set, 26-24, but couldn't hold on, falling in tight sets of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-21.
 
Elasha Williams led the offense with 19 kills and a .207 hitting percentage. Mollie Newbern added 12 kills to go with .205 hitting percentage.
 
Catherine Grimes dished out a career high 26 assist on the day. Williams also led the Lynx from a defensive standpoint, sprawling for 26 digs in the outing. Maraia Temarelli added 20 pickups in the contest.
 
Rhodes will compete again on Oct. 19 against Fisk University at 3 p.m.
