MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes women's soccer team picked up a shutout victory on senior day over Centre College on Sunday, 2-0.
This gives the Lynx a record of 8-3-2 for the year and 3-0-1 in SAA play. Centre's record falls to 9-5-1 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Lynx honored their two senior members,
Breanna Durbin and
Brooke Tomlin in a ceremony held prior to kick off.
The first goal of the contest came from
Angie Hurlow in the 10th minute of the game to give the Lynx a 1-0 advatage.
In the 25th minute
Hannah Selner found
Shannon Donelson's feet in front of goal and snagged the second goal for the 2-0 lead. The Lynx defense held strong, earning the shutout and 2-0 win.
Rhodes goalie
Chandler Kuhlman played 46 minutes and had two saves. Anna Maldanado picked up 43 second half minutes and had four saves.
Centre College outshot Rhodes 15-12 and had five corner kicks to the Lynx two.
The Lynx will be back on the pitch on Oct. 24 at 12:30 p.m. against Oglethorpe University.
