MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Rhodes women's soccer team defeated Birmingham Southern College 4-2 on Saturday.

Rhodes advances to a record of 1-0-1 in Southern Athletic Association play and leaves Birmingham Southern with a record of 1-1-0 in the conference.

Angie Hurlow scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute when she took on a defender and shot from the right side of the eighteen yard box.

In the first two minutes of the second half,
Emma Selner found the back of the net assisted by
Hannah Selner. Only a minute later
Nicolette Glidden scored a goal for the team, bringing Rhodes 3-0 against the Panthers.

Birmingham Southern's Avery Newcomb had a shot and scored their first goal of the game in the 57th minute.

Two minutes later,
Kelsey Sweeney attacked a corner kick by
Shannon Donelson and brought the score to 4-1 for the Lynx.

The last goal of the game was scored on a penalty kick for Birmingham Southern by Jessie Sperry.

Chandler Kuhlman was on the field for the full 90 minutes and made three saves.

The Lynx outshot their counterparts by a tally of 22-8, and also had more corner kick opportunities by a count of 12-4.
