MEMPHIS, TENN. - Rhodes College fell to the No. 6 ranked University of Mary Washington 6-0 on Saturday in the opening round of the Saint Jude Classic.
The loss moves the Lynx back to 0-1 on the early season while the Eagles move to a 1-0 mark.
Mary Washington's Jenna Steele had a hat trick to score the first three Eagle goals of the contest and took the 3-0 lead into the half.
Rhodes couldn't keep up with the Eagles speed as they scored three more unanswered goals by Ashlin Jones, Caitlin Baker and Haley Kane to make the final score 6-0.

Kelly Whelan had 15 saves for the Lynx in all 70 minutes of the contest. Mary Washington outshot the Lynx by a margin of 28-20
The Lynx will be back in action Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Mason Field as they take on No. 9 ranked Christopher Newport University in the final game of the St. Jude's Classic.
