The Rhodes College baseball team defeated visiting LeMoyne-Owen 16-6 this afternoon at Stauffer Field. LeMoyne-Owen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first before the Lynx answered with 9 of their own in the bottom of the first. The Magicians closed the gap to 9-5 with 4 runs in the top of the third, but the Lynx answered again with 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning. After LeMoyne-Owen put up a single run in the top of the fourth, Rhodes finished off the scoring for the day with 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth. Senior RHP
Stuart Voges earned his first victory of the season, after coming out of the bullpen in the fifth.
The Rhodes offense had their most productive day of the young season pounding out 13 hits and were able to take advantage of 11 walks by the LeMoyne-Owen pitching staff. Senior 3B

Justin Genter was 1-1 with 2 RBIs, walked once, and stole a base. Junior 2B
Stewart Martens was 1-2 with 2 runs scored, stole a base, and got hit by a pitch.
The Lynx used 7 pitchers, as they took the pitcher by committee approach to the mid-week game. Freshman LHP
Blake Glauben made his first collegiate start, allowing 1 run in his lone inning of action. Senior RHP
James Todd threw a scoreless second, before handing the ball over to sophomore RHP
