The Rhodes baseball team defeated visiting Washington Univerisity 16-7 this afternoon at Stauffer Field. Wash U jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Lynx answered with three of their own in the bottom half of the first. Rhodes increased the lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the third, before Wash U closed the gap with three in the top of the fourth to make it 5-4. After a single run in the bottom of the fifth, the Lynx opened the game up with four in the sixth and six in the seventh. Wash U put up three in the top of the ninth for a 16-7 final. Senior RHP
Jackson Baker earned his second victory of the season working six innings and striking out eight. The Lynx offense was led by senior 3B
Lynden Pindling who was 3-5 with a double, 4 runs scored, got hit by a pitch, and stole two bases.

Lynx offense had their most productive day of the young season on Friday, putting up sixteen runs on fifteen hits. In addition to Pindling's strong day at the plate, freshman SS
Bill Munson was 2-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, scored twice, and was hit by a pitch. Sophomore OF
Andrew Wallis hit a pinch hit two run homerun in the bottom of the sixth. Wallis finished the day going 2-2 with a homerun, four RBIs, and scored twice. Sophomore RF
Patrick Kilkenny was 2-5 with two RBIs, scored two runs, and stole a base. Senior LF
Channing Arndt was 2-3 with a triple, drove in a run, scored twice, and got hit by a pitch. Senior 1B Matt Killary was 1-3 with three walks and scored a run. Junior DH
Strother White was 1-3 with a double, three RBIs, and scored a run. Freshman CF
Sam Reid was 2-4 with a run scored.
Rhodes will return to action tomorrow at 2:00 against Wash U.
