MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rhodes men's soccer fell to Division II opponent Christian Brothers University in intercity play, 4-1.
The loss moves the Lynx to 5-6 on the season while the Buccaneers even their record up at 5-5.
The game proved to be a close physical battle in the first half as the teams took a 0-0 stalemate into the halftime break.
Rhodes saw CBU break the tie in the 58th minute when Paul Banks found the back of the net off a Youssef Naciri pass. The Buccaneers' Michael Hollier headed in a goal in the 67th minute to take the score the 2-0. Naciri scored a goal of his own in the 72nd minute, with the final CBU goal coming at the 78 minute mark.
The Lynx broke through the shutout with three minutes to play when Jonathan Fisher buried an Eric Ly pass to make the final count 4-1.
Riley Sheen played all 90 minutes in the net for the Lynx, snagging four saves in the match up.
Rhodes was outshot by the Buccaneers by a count of 20-2, while falling in the corner match up 5-1.
The Lynx will open their home conference play this weekend as they host Oglethorpe on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
