MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rhodes volleyball finished the weekend 3-1 after defeating Muhlenberg College 3-1 to wrap up the Rhodes Fall Invitational on Sunday.
The win moves the Lynx up to 7-15 for the season while the Mules fall to 15-7 in 2013.
Rhodes came out of the gate with determination as they defeated their counterparts 25-20 in the first set. The second set was a back and forth battle where the Lynx ultimately fell 25-17. The loss would be they last Rhodes would suffer that night. In the third set the Lynx again produced a final score of 25-20, before completely controlling the final set, finishing with a 25-12 count.
The Lynx were led in scoring by Alexis Krall who swung for 15 kills.
Catherine Grimes added 12 kills while
Mollie Newbern contributed 10 kills in the contest.
Michelle Quina led all setters with 43 assists in the contest, and also dug 9 balls.
Maraia Tremarelli sprawled for 17 digs, while Grimes contributed 10.
The Lynx will hit the road for their next contest, as they travel to SAA opponents Hendrix College on Oct. 16 for a 7 p.m. match up.
