MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes College Lynx steamrolled past the Rust College Bearcats 3-0 Saturday evening at Mallory Gymnasium.
The Lynx improved to 5-15, while the Bearcats fell to 0-5.
The Lynx won all three games significantly, winning 25-4, 25-14, and 25-3. The Lynx only trailed once, and that came in the second game when they were down 2-0. The Lynx started off game one with a 13-0 run, all behind the serving of Michele Quina. In Game three the Lynx ended the game on a 15-0 run, behind the serving of freshman
Alex Overstreet.
The Lynx were led once again by senior setter Michele Quina, who recorded 17 assists and four digs, both team highs. Alexis Krall led the Lynx with eight kills on 12 attempts. Sophomore
Allison Limmer also chipped in with 12 assist for Rhodes.
The Lynx will continue their play in the Rhodes Fall Invitational on Sunday, October 13 with games against conference opponent Millsaps College and out of conference foe Muhlenberg College, taking place at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
