Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Galow Leads Lynx To Victory Over Warriors

The Rhodes Lynx went on the road Saturday, January 12th to defeat the Hendrix College Warriors by a score of 57 to 55.  Senior guard Andrew Galow had a fantastic night to lead the Lynx to victory, scoring a game-high 25 points.  The victory marks the second of the season for the Lynx over the Warriors and keeps Rhodes atop of the Southern Athletic Association (4-0).

Hendrix came out of the gates focused on pounding the ball inside against the Lynx.  The Warriors were able to open up with a seven point lead, 7-0, before the Lynx would get on the board.  Over the next 7:42, Rhodes would use a 17-1 run to grab a nine point lead and never relinquish the lead the remainder of the evening.  The Warriors inside attack was sparked by forwards Primm and Vance combined for 30 points and 21 rebounds on the night.

Early in the second half the Lynx were able to push their lead to a game high 13 points, 38-25.  However, Hendrix would not go away and used their own 15-5 run to cut the Rhodes lead down to three.  The last thirteen minutes of the game would be played within four points, but Rhodes would never let Hendrix grab the lead.  A last second defensive stand resulted in Rhodes defeating Hendrix 57-55.

Rhodes was lead by Senior Andrew Galow with a game-high 25 points, including 3 rebounds and a pair of assists.  Junior forward Geoff Livsey chipped in with 8 points and a team-high 12 rebounds and Sophomore Ryan Van Hoeck came off the bench to spark the Lynx with 9 points.

The victory keeps Rhodes at the top of the SAA conference standings with a record of 4-0, and an overall record of 9-6.  The Lynx will be back in action inside Mallory Gym on Friday and Sunday against Millsaps College (3-12, 1-3) and Birmingham Southern College (11-3, 4-0).
