Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Assistant Soccer Coach

Lynx Top Sewanee

Rhodes Women's soccer beat Sewanee today 2-0 on a 2nd half surge.

With the win the Lynx improve to 10-3-1 (4-1) while Sewanee falls to 7-7 (3-2).  The 1st half proved to be very light statistically.  Both teams fought the heavy winds as they blew through Memphis.  The first 45 minutes only provided 2 shots for the Lynx and 2 corners.

Rhodes came out of the break on the front foot. Senior Betsy Peterson found junior Heidi Press for the goal 43 seconds into the 2nd half.  From there the Lynx continued to dominate the game.  With less than 2 minutes left sophomore Kelsey Keown got free in the Tiger's box and added the insurance goal.

The Lynx finished the game with 11 shots and 4 corners, while the Rhodes defense blanked Sewanee in both categories.

Allison Cowling played all 90 minutes for the Lynx for their 9th shutout of the year.  Olivia Glascoe made 3 saves for the Tigers.

Rhodes returns to action on Sunday as they face #8 Centre College.  The Women's Soccer Program will say goodbye to 6 seniors as they are playing their last career home game.
