The Lynx won thier 4th straight game when they defeated SAA foe Millsaps College. With the win the Lynx improve to 9-3-1 and the Majors fall to 5-7.
Senior
Paula Vasichko scored the eventual game winner in the 38th minute off of a feed from freshman
Lauren Albright. A solid exchange of passes between Albright, Vasichko, and freshman
Hannah Selner created the go ahead chance. The 1-0 scoreline would hold through the half.
In the second half, the Lynx increased their lead when senior
Betsy Peterson headed home a free kick from sophomore
Kelsey Keown. Almost 9 minutes later the Lynx added another goal. Vasichko became the provider this time for Selner. Senior
Shannon Blair was also credited with the 2nd assist. The Lynx closed out the game on a goal by senior
Mae Casey. Casey played a ball to sophomore
Taylor Weidow for a good look at goal. Weidow's shot was saved, but the rebound fell to Casey who finished the goal.
Allison Cowling made 2 saves for the Lynx while Elise Davis made 4 for the Majors. The Lynx held the advantage in shots 18 to 10 and corners 8 to 3.
The Lynx return to action next weekend when they host Sewanee on Friday at 2.
