MEMPHIS, TN - Hosting four teams in a small tune up meet to next weekend's conference championship, the Men's Track & Field team still amassed some very impressive performances, despite windy conditions and cold temperatures.

Junior Kevin Stechler continued his break out season with a second place finish in the 100m dash in a very impressive, not to mention personal best, time of 10.92 seconds.
In the 800m junior Evan Nelsen (Greenville, SC) also ran to a second place finish, crossing the line in 1:58.66. He was followed closely by junior Cody Beatty (Lewisville, TX) in 1:58.81 and sophomore Dan Sutherland (Dallas, TX) in 1:59.75.
Senior Adam Joplin (Somerville, KY) ran an outstanding 5,000m race to not only finish in a personal record of 16:23.97, but also beat out twelve other competitors to capture first place.
In the 1,500m junior Will Hawes (Springfield, MO) and freshman Noah Brown (Charlotte, NC) finished in second and third place with respective times of 4:11.15 and 4:12.37.

In the field events senior co-captain Greg Palm (Merrimack, NH) claimed second place in the pole vault to jump a personal best 10'2” (3.10m). Freshman Julian Hawkins (Kennesaw, GA) was victorious in the long jump with a distance of 21'0” (6.40m). He bested the second place finisher by a mere two inches in what was a very competitive contest. In the hammer throw, the Lynx captured the top four places with senior Andrew Maryott (East Dennis, MA) finishing first with a throw of 150'6” (45.88m). In second was senior Griffin Salzer (Beaufort, NC), followed by senior Josh Arant (Charlotte, NC) in third, and freshman Michael Olushoga (Duluth, GA) in fourth. Salzer also competed in the javelin, tossing a winning distance of 165'1" (50.32m).

Next Friday and Saturday, April 22nd and 23rd, Rhodes will host the SCAC Championships where the men will look to defend their 2010 conference crown.
