Facing their third opponent in as many days, the Rhodes Men's Tennis team shut out conference opponent Hendrix College Sunday morning in Conway, Arkansas. The Hendrix Indoor Tennis Facility proved to be a home away from home for the Lynx as they finished off a wildly successful weekend at the Hendrix Invitational. Marked improvement in their doubles play paved the way for an early 3-0 lead. Junior roommates
Kevin Duffy and
Morgan Slevin finished off a perfect weekend with an 8-1 victory at number two doubles. The pair went 3-0 on the weekend and were instrumental in the Lynx upset win over nationally ranked UT - Tyler.
Singles play was highlighted by a pair of three set victories. At number one singles, junior
Ryley Erhardt held on for a 10-8 victory. Filling in for an injured
Rob Koehler, junior
John Alexander also needed three sets to take down a crafty opponent at number six singles.
The Lynx moved to 5-1 on the young seson, remaining undefeated against division three opponents. Looking forward, Rhodes travels to Sewanee next weekend to battle at the Sewanee Invitational.
