The Rhodes College baseball team defeated Rust College 12-5 this afternoon at Stauffer Field. Rhodes jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the 2nd inning, before Rust closed the gap to 7-2 after 3. Rhodes held a safe lead at 12-3 after six and were able to hold on to the 12-5 victory. Sophomore
Chris Skoda made his first collegiate start on his way to his first career win. Rhodes is now 22-13 on the year.
Skoda worked the first two innings, surrendering 3 hits and did not allow a run. Junior
John Utt threw the 3rd and 4th for the Lynx, allowing 1 hit, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and struck out 1. Freshman

Rhodes will hit the road this weekend as they travel to Sewanee for a 3 game series. This will be the final conference weekend of the year.
