A final round of 2 under par 70 by Sophomore Farrell Diliberto led the Lynx Golf Team to a tie for 5th with #3 ranked Skidmore College at the Jekyll Island Collegiate. Methodist University the #1 ranked team in the country won their 6th tournament of the year with an even par score of 864, for their 12 rounds of golf.

Huntingdon College ranked #2 nationally finished 2nd, Greensboro College ranked #4 nationally at the time, finished 3rd, and Illinois Wesleyan ranked 12th, were the only teams to finish ahead of the Lynx in the 27 team field of 135 players.

“We play a demanding schedule, and our Team Goal is to always finish in the top five in these big tournaments, and we got that accomplished at Jekyll” said Coach Cochran, Head Men's Golf Coach. The Rhodes Golfers have played in 6 tournaments throughout 2009-2010. On the year the team has one win, four top 5 finishes, and one 10th place finish.

As a result of the team's solid team performance at Jekyll, Golfstat has ranked Rhodes College #5 in NCAA Division III Men's Golf.

Chris DeJohn of Skidmore and Josh Speight of Methodist tied for individual medalist honors with 3 under par 54 holes scores of 213.
