JONESBORO, AR - The Men's Track & Field Team kicked off the track season at the annual Arkansas State University Kickoff Klassic. As per tradition, the meet was not scored, and though an incomplete men's squad competed, that did not stop the Lynx who made the trip from having strong season debut performances.
Senior
Andrew Maryott (East Dennis, MA) broke the school record in the weight-throw, tossing the 35 lb. implement 50'11' (15.52m). His efforts placed him sixth overall in a field featuring predominately Division I and Division II athletes. Junior
Kevin Stechler (Westborough, MA) and senior co-captain
Greg Palm (Merrimack, NH) competed in the 55m dash, and were also instrumental in the 4x400m relay that placed eleventh. They teamed with sophomores
Josh Blount (Austin, TX) and Stephen Bailey (Nashville, TN) to run a solid debut time of 3:37.94.
The Lynx are currently off for the winter break, but will be back in action on January 29th when they travel to Rose Human Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, IN.
