Lindsey Gurkovich led the way for the Lynx offense today with two goals and an assist in Rhodes' 4-1 win over Washington and Lee at Sewanee. After having a first half goal called back and being knotted 0-0 at halftime the Lynx came out strong in the second period of play. Gurkovich's first goal came just five minutes into the second half and she followed it with a second goal on an assist from
Sarah Ferguson just eight minutes later. After Washington and Lee countered with a goal by Chelsea Stevenson with nine minutes to play the Lynx ended the game with two goals in the last two minutes including one by
Katie Faucher with just 16 seconds to play. The Lynx third goal came on a penalty corner play with
Libby Jones scoring on an assist from
Charlie Wagner. Charlie controlled the midfield much of the game with the help of teammates
Sarah Kennedy and
Libby Feaster. The Lynx out shot the Generals 25-13 and held a 15-7 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. After a few days off for fall break the Lynx will face DePauw and Sewanee at home next weekend.
