Dakota Rock was named assistant coach for the Rhodes College women’s soccer program in August 2019.

Rock comes to Rhodes with multiple years of collegiate coaching experience, most recently from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio where he served as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program during the 2018 season. During his time at Otterbein, Rock was heavily involved with breaking down film on opponents and creating scouting reports for those particular games. From these scouting reports the program was able to record wins over numerous opponents who were regionally ranked, as well as helping Otterbein to make back-to-back appearances in the conference tournament for the first time in program history. Rock was also involved with recruiting, on field coaching both in games and training sessions, game day and travel itineraries, and working with Playrtek, a heart rate monitor program that tracks players' fitness and physical stats during trainings and games.

Prior to Otterbein, Rock served as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Randolph College, in Lynchburg, Va. from 2016-2018. During Rock’s time at Randolph, he assisted in developing game plans which led the program to their first conference tournament win in over 30 years, along with wins over opponents for the first time in program history. He was also included in recruiting future student-athletes, executed training sessions, and preparing itineraries for away games.

Rock also has experience playing in college where he played at both the Division II level at Lake Erie College, and then both Washington and Jefferson College and Guilford College at the Division III level. During his playing time at Guilford, Rock was also coaching youth soccer at Greensboro United during his junior and senior years.

Rock is a graduate of Guilford College where he holds his bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a graduate of Liberty University where he holds his master’s degree in Sports Administration. He currently holds his USSF D license, as well.
