Mark Massey enters his fourth season with the Rhodes women’s basketball program serving under first-year head coach Rodney Rogan. As a senior, Massey is enjoying his final season as head student assistant coach for the Lynx. Massey is integral to many aspects of the program, including community relations, video assistance, practice and game preparation, skill development, and scout-team assistance.
Before Rhodes, Massey attended Christian Brothers High School, where he played rugby and served as a team manager for the basketball program under Coach Bubba Luckett, where he contributed to a program-best 29-1 record. During his time at Christian Brothers, he also gained two years of head coaching experience at the middle school level at St. Louis School.
Outside of women’s basketball, Massey is highly involved with other organizations around campus, including his role as the RSAP for the athletics department, and is the Activities Coordinator for the campus Special Olympics chapter.
Massey came to Rhodes as a Clearance Day Scholar and is currently majoring in Biology with a minor in Spanish and Religious Studies. He graduates in May with hopes of a career in dentistry. He was born and raised here in Memphis and still calls it home.
