Philippe Lauture

Philippe Lauture ‘20 returns to Rhodes, this time as the assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach for the 2023-24 seasons. Upon graduating in 2020 Lauture was the assistant coach for the Rhodes men’s tennis team in 2020-21 and helped the Lynx to their first SAA championship in over 50 years. After his first coaching stint at Rhodes Lauture worked as a Teaching Pro, and then became the Head of Junior Development at the University Club in Memphis before returning to Rhodes.

Lauture first chose to come to Rhodes in 2016 as a 4-star recruit. Lauture was the top recruit in his incoming class that was ranked #13 in the nation for Division III by Tennis Recruiting. While facing the rigors of majoring in Neuroscience, Lauture was still able to cement himself as one of the best tennis players in Rhodes history.

Lauture won 99 matches in his career at Rhodes placing him eighth on the All-Time list. Lauture was also named an All-SAA Honorable Mention as a freshmen and sophomore, and his junior year he earned First Team All-SAA honors with a conference regular season record of 14-0 playing #1 or #2 doubles and singles (there was no All-SAA team in 2020).
