J. Morgan Harter is in his first year as an assistant men's basketball coach for the Rhodes College Lynx.
Prior to Rhodes, Harter served as an assistant coach at fellow Southern Athletic Association foe, Birmingham-Southern College (BSC), and as the assistant varsity coach and head junior varsity coach at St. George's Independent School in Collierville, Tenn.
Harter started his collegiate playing career with Texas Tech University under head coach Tubby Smith before transferring to BSC under Chris Graves from 2015-2018. Harter saw BSC men's basketball claim the 2016 SAA regular season and tournament championships, winning 19 straight games as they sent the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history.
Harter is a native of Memphis. He attended high school at St. George's Independent School in Collierville.
