Rhodes College Athletics

Hayden is in his first year as an assistant coach for the Lynx. A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, he joined the coaching staff after serving as a two-year student assistant at Georgetown College (KY). He assisted in all day-to-day activities for the Men’s Basketball Team. In his final year at Georgetown College, they made a run in the National Tournament to the NAIA Fab Four. 
 
Shelton also served as an NCAA Division 1 scout for NextUpRecruits, an NCAA Certified scouting service based out of Kentucky, where he connected several high school prospects with college coaches across the country. 

Shelton played at Brescia University for two seasons in his hometown where he won two player of the week awards in the River States Conference. Prior to attending Brescia, he played one season at Missouri Baptist University where they made the NAIA Sweet 16 in the NAIA National Tournament. 
 
Shelton attended Apollo High School in Owensboro, where he led his team to the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen State Tournament and was named the 3^rd Region MVP of the Tournament his Senior year. 
 

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Administration from Georgetown College in 2023.
