Peter Jennings was promoted to associate head coach as the 2017 season gets underway. He will no longer be working with wide receivers, as he did in 2016, but will maintain duties as offensive coordinator, be in charge of the quarterbacks and run the team's social media accounts.

Jennings was named the Offensive Coordinator for the Lynx on February 18th, 2016. In his first year at Rhodes, the Lynx threw for 2,963 yards and tallied 1,556 rushing yards.

Jennings has spent the last five seasons with the Pioneers, with four seasons as offensive coordinator under his belt. He put together a 28-12 record as OC as Carroll produced eight-win seasons in two of his five seasons, which was a school record, while earning a national ranking of 24th from the American Football Coaches Association.

Jennings put together the two highest scoring offenses in school history while setting single game records for points in a game, yards in a game, passing yards in a game, and rushing yards in a game. Jennings also went on to coach 26 All-Conference players, the 2015 Offensive Player of the Year, the 2014 and 2015 Private School Offensive Player of the Year, and a 2015 AFC All-American and CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American.

Jennings also served as Recruiting Coordinator and served as the Video Production and Social Media Manager for the Pioneer football team.

Jennings began his coaching career at Iowa Wesleyan College where he served as OC from 2008 to 2011. He coached a wide receiver who set the set single game and career receptions record while also coaching a quarterback who became the first 2,000 yard passer in over a decade.

Jennings attended Bemindji State for a year before transferring to Illinois College, where he was a four year starting quarterback. He received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Exercise Science in 2007 and earned his Masters of Psychology from Walden University in 2009.
