Rhodes Soccer Challenge and Benefit Match
for the Freetown HIV/AIDS Awareness Cup
To support Alum Justin Sampson’s “Freetown HIV/AIDS Awareness Cup” project, the Rhodes Soccer Team will be involved in a “Rhodes Soccer Challenge” through their spring season this year. The team has been divided into regional teams for a competition that will begin February 23 and end April 1. We are challenging alumni to support their regional team (based on home state) by pledging a dollar amount per/goal scored by your team during the competition. Further alumni challenges will be which state and which class can raise the most money through pledges.
All proceed will go towards the 2011 Freetown HIV/AIDS Awareness Cup.
The Teams:
South Region: AR, LA, AL, MS, FL
East Region: GA, NC, SC, VA, WV, MD, KY, PA, NY, NJ, ME, MA, RI, DE, CT, NH, VT
Central Region: TN, MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, MN, IA, NE, WI, SD, ND, OK
West Region: TX, KS, CO, NM, AZ, WA, OR, NV, CA, UT, ID, WY, MT, HI, AK
Season will be twelve, 10 minute, 4v4 games with small (4ft) portable goals. Games will end in ties, 3 points for a win 1 for a tie, tiebreaker GF/GA . Semifinal and Final will have overtime.
