Biography

Maddie Smith is from Chapel Hill, NC and she graduated from Carrboro High School before coming to Rhodes.  She is the daughter of Tony and Patsy Smith.  In high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society.  She was also the Senior Class Council President.  Maddie was a part of Mission 1:27, Cinderella’s Closet, Super Copper Little Red Wagon Foundation and the Appalachian Service Project.  She also was the assistant swim coach and a field hockey coach at Carrboro Parks and Recreation.  She was an active member in the Christ United Methodist Church Youth Group.  On the field, Smith was First Team All-State in 2012 and 2013.  She was the captain of her team in 2013 and a Varsity Letterman all four years of her high school career.  In 2012, she won the Jaguar Field Hockey Award and she then won the Impact Player of the Year in 2013.  In college, she is pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in International Studies.  After college, Smith plans on attending nursing school.
