Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Methodist University
The Rhodes College volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season with a 3-0 sweep of Methodist on Sept. 5 at the Barnes PE Center in Lookout Mountain, Ga. The Lynx earned straight-set victories of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23 to remain unbeaten through the opening two matches of the season.
Key Performances
Caroline Short led the Lynx with eight kills while adding 11 digs for a strong all-around performance.
Anna Satterfield contributed seven kills, while
Martha Greene added four kills and a team-high four blocks.
Meg Gebhart led Rhodes with four aces, while
Emma Clark and
Chloe Davis each added two. Gebhart also contributed eight digs.
Clark directed the Rhodes offense with a team-high 14 assists, while
Luca Prest added eight assists. Rhodes finished with 26 assists as a team.
Defensively, Greene anchored the net with four blocks, while
Yzzi Dsamou and
Isabella Kvetensky each recorded two blocks. Rhodes finished with a 7-4 advantage in blocks.
Game Highlights
Rhodes came out strong in the opening set, hitting .286 while limiting Methodist to a -.167 hitting percentage. The Lynx took the first set 25-16 to establish early momentum.
Rhodes continued to control the match in the second set, earning a 25-20 victory. Methodist battled in the third set, but the Lynx held on for a 25-23 win to complete the sweep.
The Lynx finished with advantages in kills (31-23), aces (12-9), blocks (7-4) and assists (26-21). Rhodes also hit .140 for the match compared to Methodist's .021.

The Rhodes College volleyball team faced its first setback of the 2026 season, falling 3-0 to No. 3 Covenant on Sept. 5 at the Barnes PE Center in Lookout Mountain, Ga. The Lynx battled throughout the match but ultimately fell 25-21, 25-17 and 25-12.
Key Performances
Yzzi Dsamou and
Chloe Dunnigan led the Lynx with four kills apiece, while
Rachel Clarke added three kills. Clarke also recorded a team-high three blocks, while
Anna Satterfield and Dunnigan each contributed three blocks.
Emma Clark directed the Rhodes offense with 10 assists and added seven digs.
Luca Prest contributed five assists and five digs, while
Olivia Wiseman recorded a team-high 11 digs and added two assists and one ace.
Wiseman and
Meg Gebhart each recorded one ace for the Lynx, who finished with two aces as a team.
Game Highlights
Rhodes battled Covenant in the opening set, trailing 25-21 after a competitive start. The Lynx faced a difficult second set, falling 25-17 before Covenant closed out the match with a 25-12 third-set victory.
Rhodes finished the match with 19 kills, 17 assists, six blocks and 36 digs. Covenant recorded 34 kills and 26 assists while hitting .218 as a team.
Despite the setback, the Lynx's six blocks matched Covenant's total at the net.
