The Rhodes College women's cross country team opened the 2026 season with a strong performance at the Franklin Grizzly Invitational on Sept. 5, earning a second-place team finish at Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Ind.
The Lynx finished with 51 points, placing behind DePauw in the team standings.
Elena Gentry led Rhodes individually, finishing second overall in the 5K with a time of 18:58.9. Anna Cantrell followed with a fourth-place finish, crossing the line in 19:31.1.
Riley Imbornone added a 10th-place finish in 20:11.6, while Nina Brown finished 14th in 20:31.4. Paloma Groves rounded out Rhodes' scoring five with a 21st-place finish in 20:48.3.
Rhodes also received strong contributions from its depth runners, including Eliza Landon, Kate Hinson-Hume and Emmaline Ritter.
The Lynx return to action at the Rhodes Invitational on September 19.
