Cantrell Wins SAA Title, Women's Cross Country Finish Third at Championships

The Rhodes women's cross country team placed third overall at the 2025 SAA Championships with a total of 65 points and an average time of 23:14.

Junior Anna Cantrell led the Lynx with an outstanding performance, winning the individual title and earning SAA Athlete of the Year honors with a time of 22:08.7. Cantrell's time marked the ninth fastest in meet history. She was followed by SAA Honorable Mention Team Members, Elena Gentry in 11th place (23:14.5) and Nina Brown in 12th place (23:22.2). Caroline Wilder finished 17th (23:33.2), and senior Vivian Kalb rounded out the scoring five in 26th (23:53.9).

Additional finishers for Rhodes included Riley Imbornone (27th – 23:55.2), Emmaline Ritter (31th – 24:04.6), Claire Bramlett (43rd – 25:01.6), Kate Hinson-Hume (50th – 25:39.1), Ellie Spears (51st – 25:43.0), Mary Mestas (53rd – 25:51.5), Abby MacLean (54th – 25:57.6), Emma Henager (65th – 26:21.9), and Anna Daso (67th – 26:35.4).

Wilder also earned All-Sportsmanship Team Honors.

Rhodes' third-place finish capped an outstanding conference season for the Lynx, highlighted by Cantrell's individual championship and the team's ability to compete closely with tough opponents. The Lynx now turn their focus to the NCAA Regional Championships in Salem, Virginia on November 15.
