Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Webster University
In a hard-fought road matchup, the Rhodes College men's soccer team battled Webster to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 11 at Worldwide Technology Soccer Park. The Lynx moved to 2-0-2 on the season after taking a second-half lead and holding Webster scoreless for most of the final 45 minutes before the Gorloks found the equalizer late.
After a scoreless opening half, Rhodes broke through in the 70th minute when
Vincent Stephens found the back of the net off an assist from
Ben Novello. The Lynx held the 1-0 advantage deep into the second half before Webster scored with just over two minutes remaining in regulation to level the match.

In a dramatic late-match battle, the Rhodes College men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against No.14 WashU on Sept. 13 at Francis Olympic Field in St. Louis, Mo. The Lynx moved to 2-0-3 on the season after scoring twice in the final 14 minutes before WashU answered with two goals of its own to level the match.
After a scoreless opening half, Rhodes broke through in the 77th minute when
Brady Janes scored off an assist from
Evan Holsinger. Janes struck again just under five minutes later, finding the back of the net in the 82nd minute off an assist from
Vincent Stephens to give the Lynx a 2-0 advantage.
WashU responded quickly, cutting the deficit in half on a penalty kick just over a minute later. The Bears then scored in the 87th minute to even the match at 2-2.
