Match Recap 1: Rhodes vs Trinity University
The Rhodes College men's tennis team fell 6–1 to Trinity University (Texas) Saturday morning.
Trinity claimed the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2, while Rhodes picked up a strong 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles from Owen Fellrath and Topher Thornberry.
In singles play, the Tigers continued to apply pressure across the lineup. Oliver Bonovich pushed a tight match at No. 1 singles but fell in straight sets, while Christian Mainella dropped a three-set battle at No. 2.
Rhodes' lone point came at No. 3 singles, where Paul Fridman delivered a solid performance with a straight-set win, 6-4, 7-6.
Trinity secured the remaining singles matches at Nos. 4, 5, and 6 to clinch the team victory.
Despite the result, Rhodes showed competitiveness in several spots against a strong opponent.
Match Recap 2: Rhodes vs Southwestern University
The Rhodes College men's tennis team dropped a narrow 4–3 decision to Southwestern University Sunday morning.
The match began with a competitive doubles point, but Southwestern claimed two of the three courts. Christian Mainella and Paul Fridman earned a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles for Rhodes, while the Lynx fell at Nos. 1 and 3.
Rhodes responded well in singles play, picking up three victories to keep the match tight throughout.
Oliver Bonovich led the way with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Mainella followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Nicholas Miloi added Rhodes' third point with a hard-fought three-set win at No. 5, 3-6, 7-6, 8-6.
With the match hanging in the balance, Southwestern secured wins at Nos. 3, 4, and 6 singles to clinch the victory.
Despite the loss, Rhodes showed strong fight across the lineup in a tightly contested conference matchup.
