Women's Lacrosse Dominates Berry

Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Berry College 

In a commanding conference performance, the Rhodes College Lynx defeated Berry College with a final score of 20–9 at Mason Field. The Lynx showcased their offensive firepower and depth, pulling away with a dominant third quarter to secure their second conference victory of the season. The game carried added significance as it was dedicated to Morgan's Message, honoring the organization's mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health in athletics.

Key Performances

Delaney O'Mailey led an explosive Rhodes attack with a standout performance, tallying a career high six goals and five assists for 11 total points, consistently creating scoring opportunities and setting the tone offensively. Payton Stevens added four goals, using her lax IQ to pressure the Berry defense throughout the game.

Alban Erdle contributed three goals and two assists, while Riley Schutt added three goals on efficient shooting. Caroline Kardian finished with two goals and two assists, and Gracie Whicker and Berit Isenberg each added a goal to round out a balanced scoring effort.

Sadie McRae was instrumental in facilitating the offense, recording an impressive seven assists, helping Rhodes maintain fluid ball movement and capitalize on scoring chances.

Defensive Effort

Rhodes complemented its offensive output with a strong defensive showing, finishing with 28 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and 19 draw controls, consistently limiting Berry's opportunities and controlling possession.

Caroline Kardian led the way in the midfield with a dominant 13 draw controls, giving Rhodes a significant edge in possession. Sam Horowitz played well off the turf adding five draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls. Daryn Raleigh added four ground balls and four caused turnovers, anchoring a disruptive defensive effort, while Maddie BeVier contributed three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Additional support came from Rory Monahan and Payton Stevens, who each recorded multiple ground balls, while Berit Isenberg added a caused turnover to help halt Berry's offensive momentum.

In goal, Annabelle Kinzel secured the win with three saves, providing a steady presence as the Lynx defense limited high-quality scoring chances.

Game Highlights

Rhodes set the tone early, jumping out to a 7–3 lead in the first quarter behind balanced scoring and efficient ball movement. The Lynx continued to build momentum in the second quarter, extending their lead to 10–5 at halftime. The decisive stretch came in the third quarter, where Rhodes put up eight goals, fueled by O'Mailey and McRae's playmaking that overwhelmed the Berry defense. The Lynx carried that momentum into the final period, maintaining control and closing out the game with a 20–9 victory.
