Game Recap: Rhodes vs Howard Payne and University of Dallas:
This weekend, the Rhodes College Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Irving, Texas to play in their first tournament of the season. On Friday, August 29th, the Lynx took on Howard Payne and fell in a four set game (3-1). However, later in the day, the Lynx turned it around and defeated University of Dallas in another four set game winning 3-1.
Key Performances
Starting in her first collegiate game, freshman outside hitter
Caroline Short led the Lynx in kills against Howard Payne (12 kills) and University of Dallas (15 kills). She is a great addition to the Rhodes team and played a crucial role in the Lynx's offense.
In the back row, libero
Olivia Wiseman started her junior year with 20 digs in the game against Howard Payne and 21 digs against University of Dallas. Her determination and grit creates valuable opportunities for the Lynx's offensive.Â
In the setting position, junior
Emma Clark led the Lynx's offensive with 19 assists in the game against Howard Payne and 20 assists against University of Dallas. Emma's leadership skills are apparent on the court, and she played a tremendous role in setting up the Lynx's offense to secure points.Â

In the game against Howard Payne, the Lynx started off the first set with a 5 point run and a 7 point run leading to a fast victory of 25-16. Though the Lynx fell in the remaining sets against Howard Payne, they stayed together as a team with notable kills from junior
Yzzi Dsamou (11) and aces from
Emma Clark (4). Later in the day, fueled by a desire to earn a victory, the Lynx went on multiple runs to win sets 1 and 2 against University of Dallas. Though they lost set 3, the Lynx came back and won set four by a significant point difference of 25-13.Â
Game Recap: Rhodes vs Concordia University and Austin College:
On Saturday, August 30th, the Lynx continued their travels to Sherman, Texas to take on Concordia University and Austin College. To begin the day, the Lynx took on Concordia and fell 0-3. Later on, in a tough fought battle, the Lynx fell to Austin College 0-3.
Key Performances
Against Concordia University, leading the Lynx in kills was freshman
Caroline Short (10 kills). Against Austin College, junior
Meg Gebhart led the Lynx in kills (9). Both players generated points for the Lynx and contributed greatly to the team's offense.
Defensively, junior libero
Olivia Wiseman led the team in digs against Concordia University (12 digs) and Austin College (14 digs). Olivia is a valuable player for the Lynx with her leadership in the back row.

Luca Prest had 16 assists in her debut weekend. Against Austin College, junior setter
