Women's Lacrosse Dominate Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark.- A Monday night match up saw the Rhodes College Lynx take on the Hendrix College Warriors. From the first whistle, Rhodes took control. Caroline Kardian struck first, weaving through the defense and firing an unassisted shot into the net. Payton Stevens followed, assisted by Delaney O'Mailey, showcasing the team's seamless coordination. In quick succession, Anna Erskine, Alban Erdle, and Kardian again found the back of the net, leaving Hendrix stunned and trailing 5-0 by the end of the first quarter.

The Lynx showed no signs of slowing down in the second quarter. Erskine dazzled with her precision, adding two more goals, including a crisp pass from Kardian that she buried with ease. The freshman duo of Anna Samuelson and Stevens joined the scoring spree, and as the halftime whistle blew, Rhodes had an imposing 12-0 lead.

Hendrix found a moment of hope in the third quarter. But Rhodes quickly silenced the Warriors, with Stevens and Amelia Giese answering back. Giese's goal, a delicate assist from Maddie BeVier, was a masterclass in teamwork.

The final quarter was all Rhodes. Erskine added another unassisted goal to her tally, her fourth of the night, while Maddie BeVier and Lucy Carter sealed the deal with late-game heroics. Hendrix managed one more goal, but it was too little, too late. The final score stood at a commanding 19-2.

Despite a few penalties, including yellow cards for Erskine and Lucy Carter, the Lynx remained composed. Their defense was near impenetrable, allowing just two goals while their offense fired on all cylinders.

Rhodes now turns their attention to another SAA opponent, when they take on Oglethorpe Univerisity on Saturday, April 12th at 12pm in Atlanta, Ga.
