On April 15, 2025, Rhodes College celebrated a mid-week win with a commanding 9-1 victory over Lane College at the West TN Sportsplex in Jackson, TN.
Rhodes set the tone early, with
Quinn Thompson hitting a two-run homer in the 1st inning, driving in
Savannah Russell. Lane responded with a solo home run, but Rhodes quickly regained control.
Quinn Thompson continued her stellar performance with another two-run homer in the 2nd inning, again scoring Russell.
Cam Ferguson added to the lead with a bases-loaded walk, making it 5-1.
In the 4th inning,
Talia Travis doubled to left center, driving in
Harper Allee-Press. Rhodes sealed the win in the 5th inning with three more runs.
Kate Ledlie singled through the left side, scoring
Quinn Thompson.
Katie Bejian followed with an RBI single, and Ferguson's sacrifice fly brought in the final run.
Pitcher
Gina Dudley was dominant, allowing only 3 hits while striking out 10 batters over 5 innings. Rhodes' offense was impressive, with standout performances from
Quinn Thompson, who had 4 RBIs, and
Harper Allee-Press, who had 3 hits and scored twice.
Game 2
The Lynx capped off the day with a thrilling 9-5 victory over Lane College. Lane started strong, scoring two runs in the 1st inning. Rhodes responded in the 2nd inning with
Talia Travis' RBI single, bringing the score to 1-2. Lane extended their lead in the 2nd inning, capitalizing on errors to make it 1-4.
Rhodes began their comeback in the 4th inning with
Savannah Russell's RBI single, narrowing the gap to 4-2. The 6th inning was pivotal, as Rhodes scored four runs to take the lead.

Madison Bromley and
Harper Allee-Press followed with RBI singles, and Allee-Press drove in two more runs, making it 6-4.
In the 7th inning, Rhodes added three more runs. Russell's sacrifice fly scored
Peyton Rohrig, and
Quinn Thompson's single drove in
Jasmyn Stanley and
Athena Gonzales, increasing their scores to 9. Lane attempted to come back, securing one additional run, but it was not enough, and the victory to Rhodes was sealed at 9-5.
Pitcher
Emma Caplinger earned her first win, delivering 4.1 innings of solid relief.
Taylor Petty secured the save, pitching the final inning with two strikeouts.
Rhodes' offense was impressive, with standout performances from
Quinn Thompson, who had two hits and two RBIs, and
Talia Travis, who had three hits and an RBI. The victories were fitting tributes to kick off Rhodes' busy weekend of games ahead when they continue SAA play against Hendrix.
