GAME 1:
In a thrilling game held in Memphis, TN, Rhodes College faced off against Berry College on April 12, 2025. Despite their best efforts, Rhodes fell short, losing 2-1 in a closely contested match.
The game started off slow, with neither team scoring in the first five innings. Berry broke the deadlock in the 6th inning and had a runner reach home. Rhodes responded in the 7th inning, with Madison Bromley reaching first on an error by the third baseman, driving in Harper Allee-Press for an unearned run, tying the game at 1-1. Going into overtime, Berry regained the lead in the 8th inning, hit a homer to left field, securing the final score of 2-1.
Despite the loss, Rhodes showed resilience and determination, with standout performances from Harper Allee-Press, who scored the team's only run, and Talia Travis, who managed a hit and a stolen base. Rhodes' pitcher, Gina Dudley, put up a strong performance, pitching 8 innings with 8 strikeouts. Rhodes struggled to find their rhythm offensively, managing only two hits from Quinn Thompson and Kate Ledlie. Savannah Russell and Talia Travis showed patience at the plate, each drawing a walk. Madison Wehrman displayed speed on the bases with two stolen bases.
Despite the scoreline, Rhodes' players showed determination and grit, with standout performances from Quinn Thompson and Kate Ledlie. Pitcher Taylor Petty faced a challenging outing over the 4.2 innings. Emma Caplinger provided brief relief, closing out the game without further damage. On April 13, 2025, Rhodes College secured a hard-fought victory against Berry College, winning 5-3 in a thrilling game held in Memphis, TN. The Lynx served the Viking's first SAA loss of the season.
Berry took an early lead in the 1st inning, but Rhodes quickly responded with a double by Harper Allee-Press to left center, driving in Quinn Thompson and Athena Gonzales to give Rhodes a 2-1 lead. Berry regained the lead in the 2nd inning with two unearned runs, but with 5 more innings, the game could be anyone's.
In the 5th inning, Rhodes tied the game with Harper Allee-Press's single up the middle, scoring Madison Wehrman. Hannah Schweiger followed with a single to left field, driving in Kate Ledlie and giving Rhodes a 4-3 lead. Rhodes extended their lead in the 6th inning when Allee-Press reached first on an error, allowing Peyton Rohrig to the final run of the game.
Pitcher Gina Dudley delivered a stellar performance, pitching a complete game with 3 strikeouts. Rhodes' defense was solid, despite committing three errors, and the team showed great determination and teamwork to come out on top.
Standout performances included Harper Allee-Press, who drove in four runs, and Kate Ledlie, who had three hits and scored twice. Peyton Rohrig also contributed with two hits and a run. The victory was a testament to Rhodes' resilience and skill.

In the final game of the series on April 13, 2025, Rhodes College faced Berry College in a non-conference matchup, but unfortunately fell short with a score of 3-8.
Berry started strong in the 1st inning, scoring three runs. Rhodes managed to respond with a run in the bottom of the inning, thanks to Kate Ledlie's fielder's choice that drove in Athena Gonzales.
Berry continued to extend their lead in the 3rd inning with a two-run homer and added three more runs in the 5th inning with a hit that drove in three runs. Rhodes attempted a comeback in the 7th inning, scoring two runs with Athena Gonzales' walk and Cam Ferguson's fielder's choice, but it wasn't enough to overcome Berry's lead.
Rhodes' pitcher, Emily Pertuit, struggled early, allowing three runs in the 1st inning. Taylor Petty provided relief, pitching 7 innings. Despite the loss, Rhodes showed moments of promise, with standout performances from Madison Bromley, who had a hit and scored a run, and Talia Travis, who also scored.
The Lynx had strong moments of determination and came out on top for the third game of the weekend but have a lot to reflect upon for the upcoming week of games, facing Lane college over the week and Hendrix over the holiday weekend for senior day.
