MEMPHIS, TN – The Rhodes College Lynx put on a commanding performance at Crain Field, overpowering the Southern Virginia University Knights 16-9 to improve to 5-2 on the season. A relentless first-half attack and a historic goal from the Lynx goalkeeper highlighted a dominant showing for Rhodes.

The Lynx rode the offensive wave into the second quarter as they tally eight more goals before halftime. John Mori and Wyatt Bounds each found the back of the net, while Gavin Nagle, Charlie Carmouche, and Ford Stratton added to the board. By the half, the Lynx had built a strong 15-1 advantage. Southern Virginia fought back in the second half, outscoring Rhodes 8-1, but the early deficit proved impossible. The Lynx's defense stood tall, forcing 23 turnovers and winning the ground ball battle 47-41. Rhodes also dominated face offs, collecting 24 of 29, with Jake Gobel going 10-11 and Ihsan Omar winning 13-17. Goalkeepers for the Lynx made key stops, combining with 12 saves.
