Rhodes Women's Golf Finishes 7th at South Georgia Invitational

The Rhodes College women's golf team competed in the South Georgia Invitational, hosted by Berry College at Georgia Southern University Golf Course. The team finished in 7th place among a strong field of NCAA Division III competitors, improving significantly in the second round.

Team Performance

Rhodes placed 7th overall with a total score of +79 over two rounds. The Lynx struggled in the opening round, shooting +52, but showed resilience in round two, improving by 25 strokes to post a +27.

Individual Highlights

  • Ava Bankston led the way for Rhodes, finishing tied for 10th individually with a total score of +11 (Round 1: +6, Round 2: +5).

  • Emily Mu had an impressive second-round improvement, finishing tied for 17th with a total of +14 (Round 1: +12, Round 2: +2).

  • Megan Morris placed tied for 45th with a score of +26 (Round 1: +17, Round 2: +9).

  • Grace Young  shot +29, tying for 55th overall (Round 1: +17, Round 2: +12).

  • Lauren Schwing rounded out the Rhodes competitors with a +32 total, placing 64th (Round 1: +21, Round 2: +11).

Looking Ahead

The Lynx demonstrated resilience with their second-round adjustments and will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming tournaments. With standout performances from Bankston and Mu, Rhodes remains competitive in a highly talented field.

Next up, the team will prepare for its next challenge as they continue their spring season with the goal of climbing the national rankings.

  • Dates: March 21 (Friday) - March 23 (Sunday)

  • Location: St. Simons Island, GA (King & Prince Course)

The Lynx will look to carry their momentum into the Jekyll Island Invitational, where they will compete against top-ranked teams in another challenging test.
